ASSOCIATION MANAGER

Our Albany Office is seeking an Association Manager who will serve as the firm’s point person for several professional association clients and works collaboratively with the CHMS Association Management Team for fulfillment of client scope of services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Association Manager is directed by the client association’s Board of Directors and reports to the Vice President for Association Management.

  • Providing overall coordination of CHMS services for client
  • Working with volunteer board and committee members
  • Oversee planning of conference and other events
  • Supporting member involvement and programming
  • Coordinating client messages across communications platforms
  • Some travel for out-of-town meetings and conferences is required

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in related field
  • Minimum 5 years of association management experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Organized
  • Detail-oriented
  • Personable
  • Flexible
  • Customer-focused
  • Able to simultaneously manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
  • Writing and editing skills
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, AMS software, and collaborative/sharing platforms are desired

ASSOCIATION ASSISTANT

The Association Assistant will provide support services to our Albany, NY team of Association Managers who serve a variety of association clients.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintaining client membership databases
  • Assisting with conference/event planning and implementation
  • Providing support for large mailings
  • Scheduling appointments
  • General clerical duties
  • Answering phones
  • Scheduling meetings and copying

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Preferred candidates will have a positive attitude
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Record of successful employment
  • Experience in fulfilling administrative duties
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft products, including Word, Outlook and Excel

Internships

CHMS is currently seeking interns who can assist the leadership team and staff with various functions of association management including event planning, website and database maintenance; marketing and communications; and other administrative duties.
