We are seeking a skilled Marketing and Communications Specialist to support the visibility, engagement, and success of our client organizations through innovative, results-driven marketing and communications initiatives.

Position Summary:

The Marketing and Communication Specialist focuses on the development and execution of marketing and branding efforts for CHMS and its client associations. This individual will collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop and implement strategic communication plans that align with each client’s mission and goals.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, creative, and proactive marketing professional with deep expertise in digital marketing, social media, and performance analytics, and a passion for helping associations thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

​

Marketing Strategy & Execution

  • Support the development and execution of integrated digital and traditional marketing strategies.

  • Assist in implementing multi-channel marketing campaigns tailored to the goals of each client organization and CHMS.

  • Contribute to brand development and positioning efforts for clients and CHMS.

  • Assess current communications and marketing tactics to identify gaps and recommend improvements.

  • Serve as marketing consultant to client boards and committees.

 

Digital & Social Media Marketing

  • Utilize Google analytics, social media analytics, and other tools to monitor performance, derive insights, and inform data-driven decision making.

  • Manage and grow presence across all major social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X, Bluesky, Threads, YouTube, etc.).

  • Coordinate website updates and optimization in collaboration with the web team

  • Create compelling digital and print content, including newsletters, press releases, e-blasts, blogs, videos, and infographics.

  • Execute paid advertising campaigns (social, digital, etc.).

  • Maintain editorial calendars to ensure timely and consistent messaging.

  • Continually refine content based on performance metrics, A/B testing, and SEO best practices.

 

Client Relations & Project Coordination

  • Liaise with association management team to identify client marketing needs, define goals, and proactively handle emerging issues.

  • Develop and present analytics reports and strategic recommendations to both CHMS and client leadership.

  • Work with internal CHMS teams, contractors, and designers to execute deliverables.

  • Ensure timelines and budgets, if applicable, are met across multiple concurrent projects.

  • Monitor industry and marketing trends to support innovation and competitive positioning for CHMS and clients.

  • Create and present presentations to clients and/or Association Managers on topics pertaining to, but not limited to, social media, website development, digital marketing, press releases and media alerts. 

 

Internal Marketing & Brand Development (CHMS)

  • Contribute to the development of CHMS’s brand identity, messaging, and digital presence.

  • Support strategic communication initiatives aimed at talent recruitment, retention, and other key goals as identified by CHMS leadership.

  • Assist with expanding CHMS visibility through digital channels, in the community, and industry publications.

  • Develop marketing content that highlights CHMS’s services, team members, milestones, and culture.

  • Collaborate with leadership to position CHMS as a thought leader in the association management field.

 

Qualifications:

 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Public Relations, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in marketing and communications.

  • Proficiency with Google Analytics, social media analytics, SEO best practices, and web performance tools.

  • Proven success managing social media accounts and digital campaigns.

  • Strong graphic design sensibility and proficiency with design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.).

  • Proficiency with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact).

  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated creativity, initiative, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

  • Client service orientation and professional polish.

 

Preferred:

  • Experience working with nonprofit organizations or membership associations

  • Familiarity with association management software (e.g., MemberClicks, YourMembership) or pre-built website software.

  • Experience with social media scheduling platforms (Loomly, Hootsuite, SocialPilot, Meta, etc.)

  • Google certifications (e.g., Google Analytics Certification, Google Ads Certification, Google Digital Marketing & E-Commerce Professional Certificate) and other certifications pertaining to Communications & Marketing as well as website development and maintenance.
